Meet Our Founding Leaders

Bethany Sprague, FNP
Founder of MOMS on a Mission

Bethany is a fierce advocate for family wellness, driven by a lifelong passion for motherhood and continuous education. As a Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in healthcare, Bethany’s journey took a transformative turn in 2014 when she witnessed food (AIP diet) heal her 2-year-old’s autoimmune disease. This experience sparked her integrative medicine journey, rooted in Functional Medicine.

Now a proud mom to two thriving school-aged children and wife to her brilliant partner, Chip, Bethany nurtures a bustling urban farm in their home, complete with dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, a rabbit, and a BSFL bug farm. A lifelong learner, she’s fueled by neuroscience podcasts, exploring the potential of AI, growing nutrient-rich food, cooking, Peloton workouts, and the occasional cheesy romance movie.

Bethany founded MOMS on a Mission to create a thriving, authentic community where like-minded moms can collaborate, share intergenerational wisdom, and raise vibrant, healthy families. With a heart for sustainability and a tiger-like resolve to protect her cubs, she’s here to guide and inspire a global network of purpose-driven MOMS toward a flourishing future.

Marsha Cayton, PNP
Co-Founder of MOMS on a Mission

Marsha is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in a variety of fields.  Marsha had given up on being a Nurse Practitioner when she met Bethany 10 years ago and heard about “functional medicine”.  Soon she went down the path of functional medicine, devouring all the information she could find!  Ultimately she opened SEE Alternatives Pediatrics, a thriving integrative pediatric practice in Charleston, SC.  After closing the practice, she was excited to join Bethany to create MOMS on a Mission to continue sharing her knowledge and wisdom and to continue being of service to children and families on a much larger platform.

Marsha made a conscious decision to not have biological children, being confident in the knowledge that she is here to serve children and families and help them thrive. She and her husband currently live in Charleston, SC with Marsha’s Aunt (who is blessedly very healthy in her late 70s) and their cat, Merryweather (who has them all trained to meet her needs on demand).

Marsha is passionate about lifelong growth and learning, not only in the physical health arena, but also emotional and spiritual health and practices. She continues to adopt and expand the lifestyles of the 7 Pillars of Wellness purposefully and intentionally on a day by day basis.
